New Server Launched - excalibur.hostmaven.com

I am pleased to announce the launch of our latest server, excalibur.hostmaven.com. Excalibur boasts a Dual Core Intel Xeon processor, DDR2 RAM, SATAII HDDs, and the same high quality chassis and power supply as used on Pegasus. Excalibur is also located within the Softlayer datacenter, and will be running as our new default shared and reseller hosting server.

Excalibur is the first Host Maven server to be deployed with PHP 5.2 as the default version of PHP, rather than PHP 4.4. Due to the nearing end of life date for PHP 4 (December 31st, 2007), we will be deploying all new servers with PHP 5.2 as the default version of PHP, and PHP 4.4 as the secondary version. The knowledgebase and website will be updated shortly with additional information for running applications using PHP 4.4, but we suggest all customers on Excalibur at least attempt to use PHP 5.2. We are also utilizing Apache 2.2 due to its rock solid modular infrastructure and performance increases.

Any clients wishing to move to Excalibur should contact our support department. All new clients will by default be placed on Excalibur.
